One person was injured following a small boiler explosion in the basement of a non-clinical building next to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, fire officials said.
The explosion took place early Friday morning after a boiler malfunction. Officials transported one person to the hospital for treatment after suffering a minor injury.
The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department responded with assistance from Port Washington Fire Department.
The building was evacuated, but hospital operations have not been affected.
