Kids Workshop: Windmill Planter

Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In this hands-on workshop, children can build a model windmill that holds a beautiful seasonal flower or low maintenance herb in time for Mother’s Day. Once the windmill planter is built, they can decorate it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times.

Mother’s Day Seashell Necklace Craft

Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Children can make a beautiful necklace out of seashells for mom, grandma, aunt or any other wonderful person in their lives. $5 per participant, in addition to museum admission.

Cinco de Mayo Carnival

Saturday, May 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kids can celebrate the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo at this outdoor event that will include carnival games, an interactive game challenge, a fire truck from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., a Northwell Teddy Clinic, piñatas, raffles for Disney and Broadway tickets, an authentic Mexican food truck, and more. General admission: $15, VIP admission: $25.

Listen Up! Storybook Strolls: Curious George Plants a Tree

Saturday, May 5, 12 to 1 p.m.

Children ages 3 to 5 will listen to classic and modern tales as they stroll the gardens and later create a unique take-home craft. The event is free with admission.

3rd Annual Clark Botanic Garden Spring Festival

Saturday, May 5, 12 to 5 p.m.

Bring the whole family to this yearly event that features many wonders for children including fairies on stilts, a craft tent, a reptile show, a live performance by Tiger Folk Music, and activities with Mad Science, as well as something people of all ages can enjoy — the budding flowers blooming in the gardens.
