As part of National Dino Day, The Center for Science Teaching and Learning is inviting the public to experience its Dinosaurs! and Animal Adventure exhibit featuring over 80 unique displays, including animatronic dinosaurs as well as several unique events planned for the weekend of June 3-5.
CSTL’s Dinosaurs! and Animal Adventure gives visitors a unique and up-close-and-personal experience with representations of animals that roamed the Earth millions of years ago as well as their modern descendants.
The exhibit features 20-ft. tall model dinosaur skeletons, animatronic dinosaurs, floor-to-ceiling hand-painted prehistoric dinosaur murals and an assortment of live wild animals demonstrating environmental adaptation.
The special weekend begins on Friday with an interactive presentation by CSTL paleontologist Thomas Pascucci.
He will be hosting a live interactive presentation entitled “Dinosaur Detectives: From Fossil to Film” on the real-life dinosaurs that inspired the books and movies of the “Jurassic Park” franchise. This will be held at their campus in the Tanglewood Preserve.
Throughout the weekend, children visiting the exhibit will also be able to participate in a special dinosaur crafting activity. Dino Weekend will begin Friday, June 3 and end Sunday, June 5.
“This is an event 65 million years in the making,” said Dr. Ray Ann Havasy, Executive Director of CSTL. “Our Dinosaurs! exhibition highlights the adaptation of dinosaurs and animals throughout the history of Earth to different environments and our guests will learn about the real-life dinosaurs and the differences with their silver screen counterparts.”
Attendees will learn the differences between the real and cinematic versions of all of your favorite dinosaurs, including Velociraptors, Dilophosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex, among others from. Tickets for the presentation can be purchased online through the CSTL website at www.cstl.org.
“The fascination and wonder of dinosaurs have exploded from scientists to adults and especially children. This presentation and exhibit will animate how everyone’s favorite dinosaurs have been adapted to make their way onto the big screen,” said Tom Pascucci.
Dinosaurs! and Animal Adventure is open every day except Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 for visitors 13 and older, $12 for children 1-12 yrs. old.
