Dance, live music, sculpture and spoken word will converge in an immersive outdoor multi-media arts celebration on the gorgeous historic landscape of Cedarmere, the former estate of William Cullen Bryant, in Roslyn Harbor on Friday, June 17 from 5:30 to 8pm (rain date, Sunday, June 19th).
Bring a blanket and a picnic supper, wander around the pond, the gardens and trails, gaze at the sun setting over Hempstead Harbor and immerse yourself in a sculpture/film installation in the restored Mill. Chairs will be provided around the Sunken Garden for the 6:15pm world premieres of dances choreographed by Nancy Brier & Nicole Speletic, live music played by Steve Finkelstein, Premik Russell Tubbs, Edgar Paterson Mills, Douglas Baldwin, Tracy Hamilton & Carl Safina, with an original sculptural set designed by John Cino and poetry created by The Residents of The Harborside, all culminating in an interactive dance jam!
Presented by N/N Dance Collaborative and The Friends of Cedarmere. Suggested donation $10. Please carry out all trash; no garbage facilities will be available.
This project is made possible with funds from the Restart NY Program, a regrant program of New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, administered by Huntington Arts Council.
