Great Neck Library lecture: how to prepare for emergencies and the unexpected

The Great Neck Library is inviting community members to learn about how to prepare and equip their loved ones before a crisis hits, including lessons to address various emergencies.

Participants will learn the proactive steps to create a safe refuge and a healthy environment during times of crisis.

The lecture will discuss dealing with the loss of power, safety, health and security needs, finances, communication, food and water requirements, along with tools and supplies to have on hand to weather different types of emergencies.

This class will provide the basics so that when a crisis hits, residents will be prepared and know what to do.

Presenter Janice Imbrogno, MS, CFCS, is a teacher, home economist and wellness educator who specializes in natural living and preparedness. She has taught at over 30 libraries.

This lecture will be held at the Main Library at 159 Bayview Avenue in Great Neck on Aug. 13 7 p.m. No registration is required and it will be first come, first seated.
