Great Neck resident and young author Madeleine Chin will be visiting the Great Neck Library to discuss her recently published book, Protector Stones.
Madeleine Chin told her parents when she was just seven years old that she wanted to be an author when she grew up. Fast forward three years, she published her first novel, Protector Stones. She started writing it when she was nine and completed it when she was ten. Madeleine enjoys writing, reading, and dancing her heart out to her favorite songs, or just about any music with a good beat. Madeleine lives in New York with her wonderful parents and an adorable cat, Luna. She is currently working on her second novel.
About Protector Stones: Leine Kung, an ordinary 11-year-old girl, is about to go see her grandmother whom she has never met before. During the visit, Leine starts to notice odd things happening, like the door that vanishes right off the wall. But during dinner, when her parents drop unconscious after a few bites, Grandma drags them with her into a portal she whips up…but wait, a portal into where? When Leine finds herself dropped into a magical land named Orlzia with her best friend, she discovers she is a Marked One, destined to stop her evil grandmother from taking over Orlzia. She realizes that Grandma is being possessed by the Protector Stone of Hatred, and her quest as a Marked One is to find the other Protector Stones to rid Grandma free. Join Leine in a magical twist of friendship, family, hard work, and dedication as she not only strives to make Orlzia better, but also discovers the true means of happiness.
