The celebration was led by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, and CSTL Director Ray Ann Havasy. The two kicked off the event with opening remarks celebrating the new additions.

“CSTL’s dinosaur and animal exhibit is a jewel right the heart of Nassau County. This is the only permanent Dinosaur exhibit here on Long Island and I encourage Nassau County residents and families from across the region to come, explore and learn. Exhibits like this support our local economy and demonstrate that Nassau County has so much to offer residents and visitors. Nassau is back and open for business!,” said  Blakeman.

As the largest permanent Dinosaur exhibition on Long Island, CSTL will continue to bring tourists and economic activity to Rockville Centre and Nassau County,” said Havasy. “Dinosaurs! And Live Animals offers a fun-filled experience for children and adults of all ages.”

The exhibit gives visitors a unique and up-close-and-personal experience where they can learn how animals adapt and survive, which is demonstrated through a unique intermixing of dinosaur models and live animals together. Families and children can also enjoy floor-to-ceiling hand-painted prehistoric dinosaur murals and an assortment of live wild animals, including owls, emus, golden pheasants, goats, alligators, lizards, turtles, frogs and more.
