More than 100 women came out to support Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas of Manhasset and enjoy a night of beauty and hair styling tips and demos from nuBest.
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran and and Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth coming out to show their support for Singas as well.
Women for Singas co-founder Charlene Prounis said the event was all about women supporting women elected officials that they believe in and feel confident are doing a great job. Mothers brought their daughters so they could see women role models and learn more about government.
What started as a small group of women in Manhasset keeps growing and is becoming a movement — of women who want their voice heard and will support those that are focused on the issues they feel strongly about.
With Singas, it is about fighting the drug and opioid epidemic, gangs, gun violence and corruption — all areas that are key to us.
It was quite the community effort with nuBest offering their salon because they believe in empowering women, as well as making them look their best.
A big thanks to Gloria Sombrotto, general manager of nuBest, as well as to Jamie Mazzei, Richard Piana and Vince Cascio for their generous support of the event, to For Five Coffee Roasters for coffee drinks and appetizers and for the donated rosé wine, Notorious Pink.
