Surviving cancer comes with new challenges — both physical and emotional. To help cancer survivors live life to the fullest, 15 experts from the Northwell Health Cancer Institute will offer a free workshop on Saturday, March 3.
The half-day event, which includes two panel discussions and four break out sessions, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, Conference Center, 500 Hofstra University in Hempstead.
Topics for the wellness workshop, “Survive and Thrive After Cancer,” include:
- Finding your new normal
- Living and thriving again: Recovering from treatment side effects
- Taking care of yourself (participants may attend one of the following sessions): Making healthy eating part of your lifestyle; Ways to sleep better and wake refreshed; Exercise as medicine: Keeping you strong inside and out; Integrative approaches to stress management
Registration and a continental breakfast will take place from 8:30 to 9 a.m.
