North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena and the Town Board invite residents to the virtual “Walk or Bike North Hempstead!” workshop on March 23 at 7 p.m. facilitated by Let’s Move Long Island.
With spring around the corner, residents will be taken on a virtual tour of North Hempstead’s walkable downtowns, walking and hiking trails, and biking opportunities.
“Walking and biking throughout North Hempstead’s communities can provide many health, environmental, social, and economic benefits,” said DeSena. “This workshop will supply residents with information and tools to access all the wonderful and scenic opportunities North Hempstead offers.”
The workshop will conclude with what’s on the horizon for active transportation in North Hempstead, including a blue way trail for kayaking and the expansion of the Bay Walk in Port Washington.
This webinar is part of a three-part Transportation Innovation Series focused on public transportation, active transportation, and electric vehicles. It is part of North Hempstead’s Climate Smart Communities work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate.
This event is free and open to the public. To register visit NorthHempsteadNY.gov/ClimateAction.
