Lower School students at the Vincent Smith School in Port Washington recently welcomed a new clutch of baby chicks to their school community.
Mrs. Burdewickâs 4th-grade class carefully nurtured the eggs in an incubator in early spring, eagerly waiting for Hatching Day, which finally arrived with the emergence of these adorable chicks.
The incubation and hatching is an annual tradition at Vincent Smith under Mrs. Burdewick’s supervision, as each incoming class waits excitedly for spring to arrive and the hatching to commence.
