The Hillside Library is partnering with Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH)in doing a School Supply Drive.  Needed items include backpacks; folders; spiral and marble notebooks; pens; lunchboxes; markers; glue sticks; binders; scissors; highlighters; calculators.  As always, we thank you for your generosity.

Writer’s Workshop – All Purpose Room

Wednesday, June 28, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Just bring a pen, paper, and the willingness to create!

Writers of all levels and genres are welcome to participate in this informal session to refine and explore each individual’s talents. Facilitated by Long Island Writer’s Guild members, there will be a writing exercise, volunteered presentations of individual work, and more. Writers will be able to learn writing strategies and techniques, share their works-in-progress in a supportive and educational environment, and, most importantly, have fun!

Friday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. Ages: 3 – 7 years (with parent/caregiver). Come join A Time for Kids, Inc. as we explore in this family fun preschool program all about Woof Woof, Dogs! Activities inclue music, movement, fine & gross motor development and storytelling! There will also be a dog craft!

Stemtastic: Building Bridges! – All Purpose Room

Monday, June 26 at 4:30 p.m. Ages: 7 – 11 years. Work together in teams to build the strongest bridge possible out of newspapers or other materials. Compete with other teams to determine which bridge can maintain the most weight.

Groovy Story & Craft with Pete the Cat! – All Purpose Room

Wednesday, June 28 at 4:00 p.m. Ages: 5 – 8 years. Join us for some stories, songs and a Pete the Cat craft!
