Each year at Meadow Drive School in the Mineola Union Free School District, a Giving Tree lights up the school lobby. The tree contains paper ornaments labeled with items that local families are in need of this winter and holiday season. Any staff member, parent or school visitor can take an ornament off the tree and purchase the items that are needed.
