Town of North Hempstead celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

On Oct. 6, the North Hempstead Town Board celebrated Hispanic-Heritage Month at the North Hempstead “Yes We Can” Community Center.

As part of the ceremony, Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth honored Hispanic-Americans who had enriched the community. The event included Latin cuisine and live entertainment, including salsa, mariachi, and flamenco guitar, as well as original poem by Stephen Cipot read in honor of Hispanic-Americans that he dedicated to Puerto Ricans recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Maria.
