Three National Merit semifinalists at New Hyde Park Memorial

New Hyde Park Memorial High School students Izhaan Ahmed, Priya Persaud and Paul Wang have been selected as semifinalists in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

Students enter the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. About 16,000 students qualify as semifinalists due to their high scores on the test.

In February, approximately 15,000 semifinalists will be notified that they advanced to the finalist standing.
