Abound, the online college guidance system for degree-seeking adults, has again named SUNY Old Westbury to its exclusive list of the nation’s Best Colleges for Adults in 2024.
According to Abound, some 34 million Americans have some college credit, but no degree.
“We are proud to be recognized for offering successful opportunities for adult learners to advance themselves,” said SUNY Old Westbury President Timothy E. Sams. “With comprehensive programs offered in a combination of in-person, hybrid and online methods, we strive to help those seeking to earn their degrees later in life. whether completing a degree they started earlier in life, starting a new program now, or participating in one of our many microcredential offerings.”
The Abound methodology measures such factors as accessibility for attending courses on evenings and weekends and online, childcare opportunities for students, affordability, acceleration toward a degree and persistence towards graduation, and advancement, measured through the institution’s commitment to the long-term success of its students.
SUNY Old Westbury graded high in the above categories, making it one of only two SUNY institutions to make the list.
