The Sewanhaka Central High School District Senior Robotics Club placed fifth overall at the Long Island FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifier at Center Moriches High School on Jan. 13.
The group was presented with the Think Award, which recognizes the team that best removed engineering obstacles through creative thinking. They also received the second-place Inspire Award, qualifying the club for the Long Island championships in February.
