Roslyn Middle School students help children in El Salvador

Last year’s sixth grade Family and Consumer Science classes and members of the FACS Club at Roslyn Middle School practiced their sewing skills and made pencil cases, which were donated to underprivileged students in an elementary school in El Salvador.

Students demonstrated their sewing skills by measuring, cutting, pinning and stitching designs on their pencil cases. Finally, students lined the inside with fabric and sewed a button to secure the case.
