Roslyn Grist Mill million-dollar match challenge

Roslyn Landmark Society has announced a major fundraising campaign, the Roslyn Grist Mill Million Dollar Match Challenge.

The goal is to raise over $1,000,000 for the Roslyn Grist Mill Project and to double its membership in 2022. Thanks to a generous contribution from Roz and Howard Kroplick, all 2022 membership fees, contributions, grants and awards will be triple matched up to $1,000,000. The campaign runs through June 30, 2022.

Based on current membership fees and contributions, a total of $102,150 (10% of the $ goal) has already been raised from 207 members and sponsors (69% of the membership goal.)

Howard Kroplick has been a Roslyn Landmark Society trustee for 11 years, its president from 2018 to 2021 and currently serves as co-president with John Santos. Kroplick said, “Roz and I are excited to provide this Match Challenge to the community and our members and sponsors. There has never been a better opportunity to support the Roslyn Grist Mill Project and Roslyn Landmark Society.”

Jennifer Lister, executive director for the organization said, “We thank Roz and Howard for their generous contribution. Funds from the Challenge will be utilized for the Roslyn Grist Mill’s restoration and the Roslyn Landmark Society in the upcoming year. These activities include completing the restoration of the historic timber frame, reinstalling it to support the structure and lowering the building onto its new foundation. We will also continue to develop plans for the Roslyn Grist Mill’s future use as an educational center and tourist attraction while expanding our educational programs.”

Information on the Roslyn Grist Mill Million Dollar Match Challenge can be found on its website Roslynlandmarks.org or by calling Executive Director Jennifer Lister at (516) 625-4363.
