Greater Roslyn Chamber of Commerce expands, offers a dozen programs

As the pandemic eases up, the need for personal interaction is more important than ever. This was evident at the recent membership meeting of the Greater Roslyn Chamber of Commerce, held in person at Gatsby’s Landing.

The event was sold out as nearly 40 attendees met fellow members, plus a host of new members and renewed members.

The revitalized chamber, which covers Roslyn Village, Greenvale, East Hills, Roslyn Heights, Roslyn Estates, and Albertson has added 14 new members in the past 45 days. The goal is 75 members by April 30 and 100 by June 30.

New president Rich Branciforte, publisher of Good Times Magazine, believes the key to growth is to offer more programs and networking opportunities for members. “People join civic associations to meet neighbors, businesses join a Chamber of Commerce to increase their business and make contact. Shop Local needs to be more than a slogan.

Nearly a dozen programs were unveiled at the meeting including a Chamber trip to Citifield to see the Mets take on the Atlanta Braves April 4, monthly member meetings at different locations, a Shopsteading Program to help rent vacant stores in our neighborhood, Founders’ Days in June to celebrate the 90th anniversaries of Roslyn Village and East Hills,

The Great Treasure Hunt, an area-wide garage sale in one central location, with part of the proceeds going to the Grist Mill Restoration, plus two live concerts this year, one in Gerry Park in July and one in The Park at East Hills in August.

Businesses are urged to join and support their Chamber of Commerce. More information can be found at www.roslynchamber.org or by calling Rich at 516-280-2100(w) or
