Wednesday, March 13, ROA had its third meeting focusing on climate change and powerful solutions to help reduce the emission of greenhouse gases.

Rosemary Mascali, founder of Drive Electric Long Island gave an informative presentation on the growth of electric vehicles and the positive impacts they have on the environment. She offered many tips on rebates, charging incentives and the importance of EV’s future for our planet.

After her presentation, the meeting adjourned to the parking lot of the Great Neck House where there were seven different electric vehicles for members to view, ask questions and explore different styles and charging capabilities.

Next month’s meeting on April 10 at 12:30 pm, will be the last in a four-part environmental series. Amy Ellis and Alyssa Turano from Eversource Energy and Brian Tymann, who manages community and government relations with Orsted, one of the largest wind & solar energy companies in the world, will discuss the growing wind farm projects on Long Island.

Reach Out America is a progressive grassroots non-profit organization working toward fairness, humanity, and fully representative democracy while tackling many vital issues of the day.

Meetings are held at the Great Neck House on the second Wednesday of the month, September through May, at 12:30 pm.
