A Pride Month celebration, hosted by North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Council Member Mariann Dalimonte, and the town board, will be held at Town Hall on Monday, June 27 at 11 a.m. Residents are invited to attend the free event, which will feature live entertainment, refreshments, giveaways, and more.

“North Hempstead is a community that embraces diversity and inclusion for all, and I am proud that the Town will once again be hosting this celebration,” said DeSena. “Although much has been accomplished in the fight against injustice and inequalities, there is much that needs to be achieved. I am delighted that the town will partner Be the Rainbow on this event.”

The event is being held in conjunction with Be the Rainbow, a local Port Washington based group that advocates for love, self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community.

“The Town is proud to be hosting this celebration and join together with residents to advocate for equal opportunities and justice for all,” said Dalimonte. “Thank you to Be the Rainbow for their advocacy and dedication to educating the community.”

The town hall will also be lit up from June 24 through the end of June to celebrate Pride Month.
