On April 3, 2022, Senator Anna M. Kaplan presented the Port Washington Public Library with a Citation celebrating the opening of the Library’s new Teen Space, which was built using grant funds secured by Senator Kaplan. In 2021, Senator Kaplan provided the library with a grant of $100,000 to support the renovation of the Teen Space, plus other capital projects, including upgrades to the Library’s restrooms, façade and roof. The Teen Space renovation project included the purchase of new furniture, the installation of more charging ports, and the acquisition of loanable tech, including Chromebooks and eReaders for teens to borrow. The Teen Space is now open to the public and ready for all to enjoy.
