Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Town Council Member Mariann Dalimonte, and the Town Board are proud to once again offer a program that offers reduced fees to Manorhaven Beach Park and Whitney Pond Park pools for income-qualified participants.
This initiative was first launched in 2021 and spearheaded by Council Member Dalimonte in an effort to make Town facilities accessible to all despite fiscal challenges local families may be facing.
“We are excited to be able to offer this program to help all our residents visit a pool this summer,” said Dalimonte. “I would like to thank Executive Director of Littig House Lynette Batts along with Summer Together for their continued advocacy for this program.”
As part of the program, residents of the Town of North Hempstead who are enrolled in a free or reduced lunch with their school district, enrolled in a federal or state assistance program, meet SNAP monthly gross income and annual gross income thresholds are qualified for a 60% off facility membership. Individuals who are interested in participating in the program must provide a proof of income, residency, and identification.
Manorhaven Beach Park pool is open daily Saturday, June 18 to Friday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. through 8 p.m. From Saturday, Aug. 20 to Monday, Sept. 5, the pool will be open from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m.
