Schreiber Class of ’63 visits Historical Society’s “WWI: The Home Front” Exhibition

Schreiber Class of ’63 graduates reunite at the Sands-Willets House to learn all about "WWI: The Home Front" and how Long Island women helped win the war and the vote! Photo by Chris Bain

In Port Washington for their 60th High School Reunion, some Schreiber classmates had an informative and interactive tour on Sept. 8 at the Sands-Willets House.

Led by the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society’s curatorial director, Joan DeMeo Lager (a Schreiber graduate herself), the Schreiberites learned much new, and often surprising, information about how Long Islanders supported the war on WWI’s Home Front and how Long Island women aided in winning the war and the vote!
