Port Washington Water District to hold public informational meetings on upcoming bond

The Port Washington Water District’s top priority is ensuring that its residents are as informed as possible about their water.

This is why the PWWD will be hosting a pair of meetings on Tuesday, May 28, to discuss an upcoming bond proposal that would upgrade the District’s water treatment capabilities as it comes into compliance with new EPA regulations on emerging contaminants.

Both in-person and virtual meeting options will be available, and all residents are invited to attend.

“Everything we do at the Port Washington Water District is for the benefit of our community, a big part of which is making sure they are as informed as possible,” said PWWD Chairman David Brackett. “The purpose of these meetings is to educate residents on the importance of this bond and how it will greatly improve their quality of life. We are looking forward to speaking with our residents and answering any questions they might have.”

The first meeting will be in person at 9:30 a.m. in the Lapham Room of the Port Washington Public Library, located at 1 Library Drive in Port Washington.

It will also be viewable as a livestream on the district’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pwwaterdistrict. The virtual meeting will take place on Zoom at 7 p.m. Residents can register for these meetings at www.pwwd.org/public-bond-meetings-2024.
