Renowned mystery novelist and magazine editor Ken McGorry will bring his longtime band of musical overachievers, The Achievements, to the Sousa bandshell stage on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 3:30 pm for a rocking set of live music as part of the library’s SoundSwap series.
Ken McGorry and the Achievements are a mostly Port Washington-bred all-original concert band that specializes in country-flavored blues-rock.
During their long history, Ken McGorry and the Achievements have been broadcast live from Stonybrook University and performed frequently at New York’s Lone Star Cafe and Roslyn’s legendary My Father’s Place. Come celebrate the core band’s 50th anniversary at this live event which will feature a guest appearance by singer Kate Corrigan.
