The Port Washington Public Library is thrilled to invite the community to an enchanting Lunar New Year celebration on Feb. 18 from 1:15- 4:15 p.m., marking the advent of the Year of the Dragon.

This occasion welcomes the majestic dragon as the zodiac animal for the year, symbolizing power, strength, wisdom, and prosperity in various Asian cultures.

Join us for an unforgettable celebration filled with cultural richness, community spirit, and the promise of prosperity. Let’s make this Lunar New Year a memorable start to a year filled with new opportunities.

The festivities promise an array of activities and entertainment for all to enjoy:

Cultural Performances: Immerse yourself in a diverse lineup of musical and cultural performances that capture the spirit of the Lunar New Year.
Fan & Ribbon Dance: Witness one of the most well-known forms of Chinese Long Silk dance expressing gratitude and honor.
Tai Chi Demonstration: Discover the grace of tai chi, initially developed for self-defense, which has now evolved into an exercise form promoting stress relief and overall well-being.
Calligraphy: Appreciate the art of traditional Asian calligraphy, capturing not only the form of characters but also their energy, life force, and spirit.

This event is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Port Washington Public Library. For more information, including registration details, visit PWPL.org/events.
