Council Member Dalimonte joins Helen Keller National Center for DeafBlind Awareness Week

Council Member Mariann Dalimonte presents a proclamation in honor of DeafBlind Awareness Week.

North Hempstead Council Member Mariann Dalimonte and New York State Assemblywoman Gina Sillitti joined the Helen Keller National Center in Sands Point on June 27 to advocate for inclusivity and raising awareness in honor of DeafBlind awareness week.

Dalimonte presented a proclamation in honor of DeafBlind Awareness Week which is an annual event that takes place during the last week of June. This coincides with the birthday of Helen Keller on June 27, 1880.

Helen Keller National Center is the only national program providing comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services to youth, working-age adults, and seniors with combined hearing and vision loss.
