New Hyde Park students test their math knowledge

Approximately 100 students in grades nine to 12 volunteered to participate in the American Mathematics Competition administered at New Hyde Park Memorial High School. The purpose of these exams, sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, is to promote problem-solving skills, identify talent and foster a love of mathematics.

For the AMC-12 students who placed include Vishwajit Sharma, first place, Saumya Sharma, second place, and Daniel Son. third place, for the AMC-12. For the AMC-10 students who placed include Megha Gopal, first place, Thomas Stec, second place, and Lamya Islam, third place.
