The New Hyde Park Knights of Columbus Council is hosting a Light Up for Christ Christmas Celebration on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m., with a tree lighting ceremony at 8 p.m. at the Notre Dame Parish Center.
Attendees will include various members of the Catholic community such as Rev. John J. McCartney, Rev. Stephen J. Rooney and Rev. Kevin F. McBrien. Also in attendance will be New York K of C State Deputy Anthony Ippolito, Nassau County K of C Chapter President Tom Liddy, Grand Knight Aloysius Arukattil, officers, and members of the NHP K of C, President Carol Wendling, officers, and members of the NHP Columbiettes, and members of the New Hyde Park Fire Department.
The event will include the dedication ceremony of a plaque honoring the founding of Light Up for Christ by Tom Piotrowski, Past Grand Knight of NHP Council, which will be placed in front of the Christmas tree at the ND Parish Center. The Christmas tree lighting will be conducted by members of Tom Piotrowski’s family. Attendees will also enjoy Christmas carols and refreshments at the NHP K of C Council’s new home base in the ND Parish Center.
