Upcoming Events at the Hillside Public Library

Hillside Library is partnering with state Sen. John Martins’s Office to do a School Supply Drive for Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.

Needed items include backpacks; folders; spiral and marble notebooks; pens; lunchboxes; markers; glue sticks; binders; scissors; highlighters; calculators.  There are Collection Bins at the library where your donations may be dropped off.  As always, we thank you for your generosity.

Movie! Arthur the King – Rating: PG13. All Purpose Room

Friday, July 5 at 1 p.m.  “Ten days, 435 miles, one unbreakable bond – this is the true story of adventure racer Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and Arthur, a street dog who changes Michael’s life forever.”

Attend any of the movies at the library this summer and get a raffle entry for our Summer Reading program!

Health Insurance Application Assistance – 1st Floor Modular Room

Tuesday, July 9, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Health care insurance application assistance for Aged (65+), Blind and Disabled populations. Get help from Health and Welfare Council of Long Island (HWCLI) experts with the Medicaid application process through LDSS, Medicare Savings programs and Medicare resources.

Call HWCLI for an appointment at 516-505-4426 or walk in with your questions. This service will be available on the following dates: July 9, 23; August 6; September 10, 24; October 8, 22; November 5, 19 and December 3, 17.

Movie! Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – Rating: PG-13. All Purpose Room

Fiction Loves History Book Club – 1st Floor Modular Room

Tuesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. The book being discussed is The River We Remember by William Kent Krueger
