Armchair Historians Book Club – 1st Fl. Modular Room

Wednesday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m. The book being discussed is: The Last Slave Ship: The True Story of How Clotilda was Found, Her Descendants, and an Extraordinary Reckoning by Ben Raines. “The incredible true story of the last ship to carry enslaved people to America, the remarkable town its survivors founded after emancipation, and the complicated legacy their descendants carry with them to this day—by the journalist who discovered the ship’s remains.”

AARP Tax Aide – All Purpose Room Appointments are required.

AARP-trained volunteers will prepare tax returns for low-to-moderate income seniors on: Call the library at 516 355-7850, x101 or 102 for an appointment at 10:15, 11:30 a.m.; 12:45 p.m. Bring a copy of last year’s tax return, as well as any additional information and forms necessary to complete this year’s return.

Their objective is to find out the truth about the sexual harassment allegations against Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein. et they face the obstacle of no female survivors of the incidents seem to want to go on the record to corroborate their story.”
