Hillside Public Library, in conjunction with Long Island Coalition for the Homeless, is conducting a Drive for Needed Items for folks living on the streets.
The following is a partial list of some of the desired items: Peanut butter; crackers; protein bars; fruit cups; deodorant; mouthwash; water-proof gloves; warm socks; scarves; reusable bags; ziploc bags. Also, $5-$10 gift cards for food: Dunkin; 7/11; McDonalds, etc.

Healthy Living for Healthy Women – 1st Fl. Modular Room
Tuesday, January 9 at 12 noon. Stony Brook Health Education; Women’s Health & Cancer Prevention: Learn about cancers that primarily affect women or people assigned female at birth. Learn about the importance of knowing your body, early detection and screening guidelines for specific cancers.

Friday, January 12 at 1 p.m. “J. Robert Oppenheimer played an integral role in developing the first atomic bomb. Throughout the development of the bomb, Oppenheimer struggled with justifying a creation that came to cause so much damage. He questions whether he owes it to scientific discovery to create something capable of so much power.”
