Needed items include Band Aids, Sterile Eye Dressings; Gauze Dressings; Safety Pins; Tweezers and Scissors; Skin Rash Creams; Pain Relievers and Digital Thermometers. There is a bin at the library for your donations, and we thank you for your generosity.

You can either complete the Google Form sent out OR complete the sheet and either bring it to the reference desk or email it back to contact-us@hillsidelibrary.info with the subject HILLSIDE BASEBALL TRIVIA by Friday, July 22 at 11:59PM. All who return a trivia sheet will be entered in to a raffle to win a prize, regardless of score!

Author Talk With Dennis Carey – Virtual and All Purpose Room, 2nd Floor Monday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. Come join author Dr. Dennis Carey as he takes us on a journey of his book, Silver Strand: The Long Beach Saga. Dr. Carey practiced medicine in the Northwell Health System as a Pediatric Endocrinologist. Since his retirement, he has published his historical fiction novel, which tells the story of shipwrecked Bridget O’Herlihy while tracing the history of Long Beach from the 1837 shipwreck to Superstorm Sandy in 2012.Attendees will be entered into a raffle to win a free copy of the book!This program is made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

Summer Sing Along: Showtunes – Virtual and All Purpose Room, 2nd Floor Wednesday, July 20 at 2 p.m. Join us for a Summer Sing Along with Marilyn McClean, featuring some of Broadways Greatest Hits! No singing experience is required! All are welcome to come and sing along to some of the most popular tunes in the history of Broadway. Not a fan of singing? No problem, just come and have a good time listening to these great tunes! Summer Ceramics: Pineapple Lantern – All Purpose Room, 2nd Floor Friday, July 22 at 5 p.m. Add fairy lights or a battery operated candle for a delightful glow in your home! The class will include the ceramic, paints, brushes and instructions. $5.00 fee for materials, cash only please.

Subversive Ocean Vehicles – All Purpose Room, 2nd Floor Monday, July 18 at 5 p.m. Ages: 7 years- 10 years. Children will get a glimpse and learn about several Submersive Ocean Vehicles as well as create their very own LEGO Submarine that they can take home! Material Fee: $2

YA Treasure Chest – All Purpose Room, 2nd Floor Tuesday, July 19 at 4 p.m. Grades 5 – 12. Learn the art of decoupage by decorating a treasure chest! Materials will be supplied, but make sure to bring any images, pictures, print outs, etc. that you wish to add to your treasure chest.
