John Lewis Childs School students who are part of the newly opened school store, Stripey’s Store, presented at the district’s board of education meeting on Jan. 12.
The store, which officially opened in December, sells school supplies, books, posters and more.
Students who were interested in working at the store were able to apply with adviser Janice Hyland. Those involved in the school store work on the advertising and marketing, inventory, and finances.
During the meeting, they debuted new items they’re planning to sell this winter, including Lunar New Year bracelets, Valentine’s Day pencils and bubble gum-scented stickers, among others.
The store will be open every second and fourth Thursday of each month.
