John Lewis Childs School kindergartners in Patricia Mancusi’s class recently read “Jack and the Beanstalk” by Mary Ann Hoberman. The students drew the ogre’s castle and taped the image to the top of their clear desk dividers. Then, they designed a beanstalk using various materials, such as blocks, cups, and Lego. When each student finished their beanstalk, they had action figures climb the beanstalk as “Jack.”
