Love is in the air…and at the Floral Park Library! On Sunday, February 11th, there will be a live performance to celebrate Valentine’s Day – Love Songs with Niamh and Shu. Niamh Hyland and Shu Nakamura duet on the songs that make hearts – and voices – sing!
In recognition of February as Black History Month, the very talented artist/maker Danielle Barbaro teaches a Paint Like the Greats session to celebrate the work of African-American fiber artist Bisa Butler.
Later in the month, the Donny Golden School of Irish Dancers perform in person to herald in St. Patrick’s Day. Tea and soda bread are on the menu, too.
Nassau County Receiver of Taxes Jeanine Driscoll presents a Tax Forum, and Attorney Kathleen Rose offers an Estate Planning Workshop. AARP offers tax help by appointment Tuesdays through April 9th.

February will find the Floral Park Library Urban Explorers touring the Egyptian Collection at the Brooklyn Museum, following their January outing to a Broadway play.
There’s plenty for the kiddos, too, including a visit from the Long Island Rabbit Rescue Group, as part of February 3rd’s Take Your Children to the Library Day activities.
P[art]y Art facilitates dropoff programs for PreK- Grade 2 and Grades 3 – 5, Fun with the Pom Queen, the Long Island Steam Group (grades K – 3 and 2 – 5), and a Valentine’s Day event with Chefs of d’Future.
We’re always pleased to welcome Toddler Time Little Adventurers, and Play Hooray, along with A Time for Kids Baby Start and Family Pre-School Hour.
Young Adult programs include a celebration of Chinese New Year with Chefs of d’Future, and a Dripping Paint with Posca led by Ali from P[art]y Art. And, the Library will host the Girl Scout Gold Award ceremony.
Our dedicated Made with Love Knitting and Crocheting group meets Mondays at 6:30 pm and Wednesdays at 11:00 am (holiday closures excepted).
The Library Board meets Wednesday, February 14th at 7:30pm. The public is welcome. The Library is closed Monday February 19th for Presidents Day.
