The Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District honored new hires at the Sept. 12 board of education meeting. Board President Beth Kierez formally welcomed 24 new faculty and staff for the 2022-23 school year.
The new teaching staff includes Deanna Coyne, pre-K teacher at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Julia DiMiceli, general education at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Marilou Giammona, general education at John Lewis Childs School; Mara Hornstein, pre-K at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Alyssa Lutz, special education at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Kerri Macri, pre-K at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Jessica O’Gara, supplemental teacher at John Lewis Childs School; Nicole Rodriguez, special education at John Lewis Childs School; Amber Wetzel, special education at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Caitlin White, pre-K at Floral Park-Bellerose School; and Aileen Wille, special education AIS at John Lewis Childs School. Leave replacements include Katelyn Flomer, first grade teacher at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Maria Parrino, speech therapist at Floral Park-Bellerose School; and Hannah Schmid, first grade teacher at John Lewis Childs School.
Additionally, aides and teachers’ assistants were welcomed to the district. They are Kayla Ambery, aide at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Gabriella DiCaprio, teacher assistant at John Lewis Childs School; Danielle Dietrich, aide at John Lewis Childs School; Jennifer Gill, aide at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Claire Hayden, aide at Floral Park-Bellerose School; Annemarie Hoffman, aide at John Lewis Childs School; Shana Mulvey, aide at Floral Park-Bellerose School; and Mihaela Pegoli, aide at Floral Park-Bellerose School. Bus attendant Elizabeth Murray and cleaner Kannandra Perez were also welcomed.
Some were able to attend for recognition by the Board via zoom or in-person.
