As part of its Pick a Reading Partner Week, being held from Jan. 22 – Feb. 2,
Manor Oaks School hosted a read-aloud of the book of the month, “Sonia’s Digital World” by Shannon McClintock Miller.

The theme of this year’s PARP is digital literacy and digital citizenship.

Principal Jane Ruthkowski read aloud the illustrated book to all grade levels in three
different sessions in the library.

Following the read-aloud, the students were tasked with completing a “digital escape room,” solving puzzles and answering trivia questions related to the read-aloud on their Chromebooks.

Every student participated in a grade-level digital escape room, and the first student who was able to “escape” the room was awarded a special prize provided by the Manor Oaks PTA.
