The Plandome Heights Civic Association celebrated its 80th Anniversary at its annual meeting and meet the candidates event on Oct. 16 at the Port Washington Yacht Club.

Addressing the 80-plus audience of members and guests were Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, former Town of North Hempstead Supervisor and Democratic candidate Jon Kaiman, Nassau County Legislator Mazi Pilip and Democratic Legislator candidate Weihua Yan.

The candidates for Town Supervisor and Nassau County Legislator discussed their priorities as well as resident concerns.  Also addressing the group was Andrew Schwenk, president of Greater Manhasset Council of Civics, providing an informative update on current Manhasset projects.

Plandome Heights Civic’s past president, Marion Endrizzi, presented the history of the civic’s accomplishments.

State Assemblywoman Gina Sillitti and Town Councilmembers Marianne Dalimonte and David Adhami presented proclamations from the New York State Assembly and the Town of North Hempstead in recognition of the civic’s years of service to the community.

Manhasset merchants Raindew, A&F Market, Berest Dance Center, SerendipiTEA, Nobel Nails, Manhasset Deli, Publicans, and Nubest generously donated raffle prizes to help celebrate the anniversary and the Civic took this opportunity to encourage residents to shop local.
