Nassau County Legislator Siela A. Bynoe welcomed students from Westbury High School’s PROSPER vocational program to the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building on Monday, April 25.
Prior to attending a portion of that day’s Legislature’s session, the students engaged in a wide-ranging conversation with Legislator Bynoe on topics including her service as a Legislator; her experiences as a nearly lifelong Westbury resident; the operations of Nassau County government, and more.
Bynoe also announced that she will continue her yearly tradition of providing a paid summer internship to a PROSPER program student.
The student, who will be chosen by the program’s staff, will gain hands-on experience in local government by working closely with Legislator Bynoe and her district office staff as they serve the residents of the Second Legislative District.
“Westbury’s PROSPER program empowers young people to succeed by equipping them with skills and training that they can apply toward the pursuit of rewarding and fulfilling careers,” Legislator Bynoe said. “I cherish every opportunity to work with our young people, and it was a pleasure to facilitate this wonderful morning of learning and conversation at the Legislature.”
