Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck) joined the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) to support the athletes participating in the Blazing Trails for Autism 4-mile run/walk at Great Neck South High School on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Net proceeds from the GLIRC-managed race benefit the Eden II & Genesis Foundation, an autism agency serving Long Island, Brooklyn, and Staten Island families with school programs, services, residential facilities, and respite for children and adults living with autism.

“Not only does this wonderful tradition unite our community and raise funds for a vital resource, this event gives athletes on the autism spectrum an opportunity to shine in the sport they love,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “I applaud the GLIRC for their leadership and wish the Eden II & Genesis Foundation continued success in their important work.”
