In honor of Black History Month, John Lewis Childs School hosted a door decorating contest for all grade levels. The contest was organized by the school’s Student Council.
Each grade was asked to pick a famous African American leader or influencer, and then learn about that individual and creatively decorate their classroom doors to represent them. Some of the chosen figures included Ruby Bridges, Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Jackie Robinson.
