Jewish Women In the Military exhibit

The Jewish War Veterans, Post 652, has made arrangements with Don Clavin, Supervisor of the Town of Hempstead and his staff to have a free exhibit in their Lobby entitled Jewish Woman in the Military.

The exhibit runs through the month of May which is Jewish Heritage Month.  The building is open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday and is located at 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, NY. There is free parking in their parking lot in the rear of the building.

The exhibit includes pictures and stories of Jewish Women in the military from the World War I through the 1990s.

The exhibit shows some of the important jobs that woman have in the military.

The U.S. Government has recognized the important roles that women have in the military in numerous ways including honoring them with a postage stamp entitled Women in the Military.
