College: Getting There From Here – All Purpose Room
Monday, Sept. 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Whether your children or grandchildren are learning to crawl or learning to drive, you can help make a college education a reality. We’ll discuss questions to consider as you establish a college savings goal, strategies to help you reach your goal and the features and benefits of various education savings plans. This event is presented by Certified Financial Planner and NHP Chamber of Commerce member Katherine Kanes.
Health Insurance Application Assistance – 1st Floor Modular Room
Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Health care insurance application assistance for ages 65 and up, and blind and disabled populations. Get help from the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island experts with the Medicaid application process through LDSS, Medicare Savings programs and Medicare resources. Call HWCLI for an appointment at (516) 505-4426, or walk-in with your questions. This service will be available on the following dates: Sept. 10, 24; Oct. 8, 22; Nov. 5, 19 and Dec. 3, 17.

Staff from the Lighthouse Guild will discuss Electronic Magnification technology and how it can enhance your daily life, from reading to recognizing products and reading labels while shopping.
9-11-2001 Anniversary Commemoration – Virtual
Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Join people from around the world to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of 9/11. Watch a 30-minute film, available on demand, highlighting first-person accounts of the attacks and their aftermath and participate in a live virtual chat with 9/11 Museum staff throughout the day.

They have a delicate leaf motif that looks beautiful by daylight or in the evening with a lit, flameless, tealight inside. They can be easily used to light up and adorn any room, porch or even parties throughout Fall. Patrons aged 18+ only.
Your registration will be canceled if the materials fee payment — $5.00, cash — is not received by Sept. 6.
