Broadway on a Budget! in the All Purpose Room on Friday, Sept. 13 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Want to get Broadway tickets at bargain prices? Theater enthusiast Brian Stoll discusses all things Broadway! Find out about the Broadway Playbill, plus a variety of money saving tips on how to see Broadway shows for under $60 per ticket.

Craft Workshop: Paper Pumpkin Lanterns on Friday, Sept. 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Feel cozy with these arty, elegant luminaries. They have a delicate leaf motif that looks beautiful by daylight or in the evening with a lit, flameless, tealight inside. They can be easily used to light up and adorn any room, porch or even parties throughout Fall. Patrons aged 18+ only. Your registration will be canceled if the materials fee payment, $5.00 cash, is not received by Sept. 6.

Lunch n’ Learn Tuesdays with Maura. This virtual class will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. Community Health Nurse Educator Maura Calio will discuss new

Got a Clue? Mystery Book Club at the 1st Floor Modular Room on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The book being discussed is The Never Game by Jeffrey Deaver. “The son of a
survivalist family, Colter Shaw is an expert tracker. Now he makes a living as a “reward seeker, traveling the country to help police solve crimes and locate missing persons for private citizens.”

In-Person: Library Plant and Garden Group at the 1st Floor Modular Room on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Calling all gardeners, of all levels and interests! Join the Plant and Garden Club and meet with fellow gardeners of all skills and interests. No registration necessary. The Library Plant and Garden Club meets every 3rd Thursday, April through September.

Sun, Sea, Soil, Wine: Winemaking on the North Fork of LI. This virtual course will take place on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. Meet Richard Olsen-Harbich, North Fork’s longest-tenured winemaker and author of Sun, Sea, Soil, Wine: Winemaking on the North Fork of Long Island! Bring your questions!

Steady, Safe and Strong Fall Prevention in Older Adults at the All Purpose Room on Monday, Sept. 23 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Josephine Peterson, MPH and Injury Prevention Specialist at NYU Langone Hospital LI, will go over risk factors for falls and provide practical tips that can be used right away to stay steady, safe, and strong. Health Insurance Application Assistance at the 1st Floor Modular Room on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get help from Health and Welfare Council of Long Island experts with the Medicaid application process through LDSS, Medicare Savings programs and Medicare resources. Call HWCLI for an appointment at (516) 505-4426, or walk-in with your questions. This service will be available on the following dates: Sept. 24; Oct. 8, 22; Nov. 5, 19 and Dec. 3, 17.

Community Legal Help Project in the Conference Room on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet with lawyers for free legal information and referrals
for Nassau County residents. Help topics include: custody, domestic violence, landlord/tenant issues, Elder law, bankruptcy, foreclosure, immigration, disability, and more. Services provided by Nassau Suffolk Law Services, Volunteer Attorneys & the Nassau County Bar Association. Medicare 2025 and You: Updates and Options at the All Purpose Room on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Barry Klitsberg of the Nassau County Health Insurance Information
Counseling and Assistance Program is offering an informative session on Medicare 2025 Updates and Options, including legislative changes, Social Security and Medicare cost of living and premium increases. This program is designed for existing and new Medicare members.

Classic Book Discussion at the 1st Floor Modular Room on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. The book being discussed is: The Stranger by Albert Camus. The Stranger, by French author Albert Camus, was published in 1942. The novel which explores the philosophy
of existentialism, follows Meursault, a detached man from Algeria, as he navigates life with a sense of indifference to moral codes. Camus’s writing style, characterized by its sparse and detached nature, serves to emphasize the existential outlook on life that infuses the novel.

St. Francis Hospital Health Outreach Bus Free Flu Shots at the library’s parking lot on  Friday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Free in-person health screenings will include a brief cardiac history, blood pressure, blood test for cholesterol, and diabetes screenings with appropriate patient education and referrals as needed for clients above the age of 18. No appointments necessary. First come, first served.

Scary Book Craft in the All Purpose Room on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Decorate your own scary book for Halloween! Create a spell book, a ghost story, or a book of potions! Books and craft materials will be provided. Bring your own materials if you
like. Your registration will be canceled if the materials fee payment, $5.00 cash, is not
received by Monday, Sept. 23rd.

Pop Up Book Club at the 1st Floor Modular Room on Monday, Sept. 30 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The book being discussed is: The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley. What if you came across a little green notebook that challenged you to really examine your life? Take the journey with Julian, and find out which path he travels.

CHILDREN and YOUNG ADULT EVENTS:

Game On! Chess Night. In-person on Friday, Sept. 20 at 4:30pm. Ages 6 to 9 years. Coach Mike is back with all new Chess adventures! Both new players and experienced players welcome!

Athletic Movements with Jane! In-person class on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. Ages 4 to 5 years. Get ready for some fun action and groovin’! Be up and moving in this class while having and teaming up in activities. Remember, bring a bottle of water!

Baby Start! In-person class on Friday, Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m. to 11 am. Ages is from birth to 17 months with parent/caregiver.
Come join A Time for Kids as they introduce the littlest learners to the wonderful world of
library programs. Activities include music, movement, fine and gross motor development and circle time. Focus is on early literacy, early language development and socialization.

Time for Kids. In-person class on Friday, Sept. 27 from 11:15 a.m. to noon. Ages 18 months to 5 years with parent/caregiver. Come join A Time for Kids, Inc. and explore feelings in this family fun preschool program. Music, movement, storytelling, and make a craft!

Stemtastic: Undersea Adventures! In-person event on Monday, Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m. Ages  7 to 11 years. Join the event for an undersea adventure as you will travel, down, down, down, to the depths of the ocean. You will build an undersea hydrothermal vent and watch the lava flows curl upward in the ocean terrarium.
