Herricks math teacher Josephine Bruno was named Middle School Mathematics Teacher of the Year by the Nassau County Mathematics Teachers Association for the talent and creativity she brings to her classroom.
Bruno was recognized by her peers at the NCMTA’s annual reception that was held on May 11. Nassau County Mathematics Teachers Association President Gabriella Gizzi said, “Bruno’s contributions to her profession are truly impressive and worthy of recognition.” Each year, NCMTA recognizes an elementary, middle school and high school mathematics teacher of the year.
The purpose of NCMTA is to promote an active interest in mathematics education by providing a forum for the interchange of ideas, and by encouraging research to improve the teaching of mathematics at all levels, elementary through college.
