Herricks High School presented Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” a beautiful and inspirational under the sea adventure of Ariel who makes a deal with the evil sea witch and trades her voice for legs to be with her one true love. The show featured 28 actors, 43 musicians and a backstage crew of students in grades 9-12. Students presented three performances to a sold-out live audience on March 25, 26 and 27.

The spring production opened with King Triton’s youngest daughter Ariel singing “The World Above” followed by several more songs such as “Part of Your World,” “Beyond My Wildest Dreams” and most notability “Under the Sea.” Some beloved characters in the cast included Ursula, Flounder, Sebastian and Prince Eric.

The production team included Director and Herricks alumna Sarah Fernandez, along with Musical Director Scott Stickley and Vocal Director Louise O’Hanlon, both Herricks High School music teachers.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to bring live theatre back to the Herricks High School stage. These dedicated and talented students lit up the stage with their energy leaving the audience wanting more,” stated Anissa Arnold, producer and Herricks director of fine and performing arts.
