For Earth Day, 4th and 5th-grade students at Harbor Hill Elementary School took recycling to a whole new level. Under the direction of music teacher Ms. Dorothy Burns, they created real instruments out of recycled materials.

Students began by designing a blueprint of the instrument, then gathered all the materials needed to build it. Many instruments were made, including drum sets, guitars, flutes, and more!

“I am so impressed with the creativity that my students have shown throughout this entire project,” said Ms. Burns.
